Nicholas Gaffney, a lawyer and former journalist, directs the San Francisco office of Infinite Public Relations. He designs, executes, and manages strategic communications programs for professional services providers of all type and scope, including some of the most prominent law and professional services firms in the country.

Nick’s public relations career spans two decades during which he has successfully helped launch, manage and bolster a variety of media-related businesses. Before joining Infinite Public Relations in 2004, Nick headed the Professional Services Practice at Magnet Communications. He also helped found national PR firm Levick Strategic Communications, and served as director of business development at Jaffe Associates, a legal marketing consultancy.

Described by The Wall Street Journal as a “marketing guru,” Nick is frequently sought out for his expertise by the media as well as by clients. In addition to being featured in the New York Times and on National Public Radio’s Marketplace, Nick pens a monthly column in “Marketing the Law Firm,” a Law Journal Newsletters publication.

He recently served as spokesperson for the 2007-2008 San Francisco Grand Jury tasked with conducting an in-depth review of the operations of various city departments and agencies, appearing in the San Francisco Chronicle, The Examiner, ABC-7 News and other San Francisco Bay Area media outlets.

Prior to entering the field of public relations, Nick worked as a journalist and in various capacities for American Lawyer Media. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Providence College and a Juris Doctorate degree from Case Western Reserve School of Law.
